Area Manager in Drayton Valley, Alberta


Working with the Strike Management Team, the Estevan Area Manager position has the overall responsibility for the day to day management of the Estevan Business Unit of Strike Energy Services. The Estevan business unit offers construction and maintenance services to oil and gas producers in the south east part of Saskatchewan and southwest part of Manitoba. The Estevan Business Unit is one of 15 business units at Strike and the Area Manager operates as part of a team of dedicated managers who provide professional services to clients in the business communities that they serve throughout Western Canada.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for the preparation and execution of operating and capital budgets for the business unit.
Responsible for business development by leveraging existing industry contacts and developing new contacts in the community
Ensures the projects and services are properly estimated, planned, staffed, executed and reported
Ensures appropriate customer follow up on all projects
Provides leadership in health and safety policy implementation
Provides leadership in the implementation, coaching and monitoring of all company policies and procedures, including human resource policies.
Ensures the fleet of equipment is operated and maintained safely and in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Preferred Education and Experience
Team player with proven ability to problem solve
Well rounded business acumen with strong technical and organizational skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Project, Primavera and MS Excel would be an asset
Technical diploma from accredited college, university or technical school in relevant field of study, including trade school
10+ years of relevant experience
Project Management Institute training/certification would be an asset
Working knowledge of industry and local contacts would be an asset
